Indiana Finalizing Settlement With TurboTax

Indiana Attorney General Todd Rokita has reached a $2.9 million settlement with TurboTax and Intuit over alleged deceptive advertising practices.
Indiana was one of the dozens of states that took part in a $141 million settlement with Intuit. The tax firm has been accused of misleading consumers by promising “free” tax filing services before redirecting them to their paid services.
Customers who were eligible for free services but ended up paying will be paid approximately 30-dollars for each year they were impacted from 2016 to 2018.
A settlement administrator will contact customers and assist them in receiving their money. Customers do not need to take any action until the settlement administrator contacts them.
